For people with at least one year of meditation experience. Led by Singhashri.
Recent world events point to the complex, surprising and ever-changing nature of reality. Biden stepping down as the Democratic presidential nominee and passing the torch to Kamala Harris has released a tremendous amount of energy, galvanizing a whole new, richly diverse generation towards a greater sense of possibility and freedom.
Meanwhile, the devastating suffering in Gaza, Ukraine, and Sudan roll on. How do we, as spiritual practitioners, relate to the complex and changing nature of the world around us? What is a supportive Dharmic perspective?
The Buddha taught that there is suffering AND there is freedom. And our direct experience of ourselves, others and the world continue to show us these truths from moment to moment. Together, we’ll explore these two truths and the conditions that give rise to them.
Through an embodied and relational approach to our experiences of both suffering and its end, we’ll deepen into sensations that have the taster of freedom. These sensations guide us towards the freedom of awakening and the arising of the Bodhicitta - a deep, felt sense of compassion and interconnectedness with all of life.
This felt sense of freedom and compassion can support us to meet ourselves, others and the world in their every-changing nature and passionately and creatively respond to what is arrisng moment by moment.
The day will include input, meditation, enquiry, group exercises and discussion, movement, and ritual.
